this is the story of baby and the animals
living on an island and feelin free
all they do is strum and play and sing and dance and jump and twirl
and finally fall asleep by the big blue sea

in the beginning baby was alone
no one to play with or sing along
then a boatload of animals lost in a storm
washed up on the shore and joined in on her song
baby and the animals set up in the forrest
they played and sang through the starry night
they had a little bit of trouble tuning monkeys guitar
but then the drums start thumpin and it felt alright
now they woke up in the morning the ocean was quiet
the island is still as the sun rises high
coconuts and music is the all day diet
as the moon takes its place in the star filled sky


then they left the island to kick it in the big time
got themselves a spot on the national tv
they played like they did on the beach and in time
the phones lit up like a Christmas tree
people came from twenty seven thousand miles away
some came from as far as the moon
but somehow someway it just wasnt the same
so they pakced it up and went home in a balloon
now happy as clams playing music forever
