These trees are bent and torn
The veins of their core
Are ripped out, and tangled across the floor
The harsh side of nature
Of which i adore
Taking comfort from the thorns
Say what you need
I'm not here to think
Say what you feel
And i will watch you sleep
For one last time
You know just as i
These trees focus best in the light
I'm not trying to bend the rules
Magnifying all that's obtuse
Feel the rush of blood to my head
And i know i've been made a fool
Say what you need
I'm not here to think
Say what you feel
And i will watch you sleep
For one last time
Because you are the forest, it's true
And i'm looking through the leaves just like i look through you.
There too high up, i'm too far down
As ever my feet don't leave the ground
You are the forest, it's true.
And i wish you weren't
But, you are the forest.
